Meet The Team

My name is Julia Brodska and I’m the author of the international best-selling book Best Life-ing.

This year has been challenging for many of us in different ways. But can you imagine being a homeless single woman with children? And with Christmas just around the corner, I can only guess how tough, sad and uninspiring that would be.

My life began in a war-torn country, and my family fled to Australia. Soon after we arrived, my father had a stroke and was diagnosed with dementia.

Growing up in poverty, I remember my mother’s struggle as she tried to keep our family afloat, feed her two small children, learn English, and clean homes for a living. And she did all this while taking care of her husband, whose mental faculties were rapidly declining.

When my father died, my world spiraled out of control. I couldn’t reconcile my loss and turned to drinking and drugs and other self-sabotaging behaviors. Luckily, I came across mentors and brave friends who helped me turn my life around. In one year I lost 30 pounds, got out of more than $30,000 in debt, and started my first business.

Today, my team of mind and body wellness experts and I help many people overcome limiting beliefs, live their dreams, and create sustainable fulfillment in the “7 Areas of Life”: social, physical, spiritual, financial, intellectual, relational, and vocational.

The obstacles each member of my Best Life-ing team overcame to get to where they are today, inspired us to host a fundraiser and raise money for the homeless families at Safe Space Foundation in Miami-Dade. Redfynn Technologies and The Pink Print EC have graciously joined us in this endeavor.

This year’s Saving Families Holiday Fundraiser will be held in Miami at Santorini by Georgios in the Hilton Bentley Hotel on November 22nd, at 3 pm. Don your casual beach attire for fun, food and drinks by the pool, and tons of raffles and giveaways. Browse our wellness stands, partake in a yoga primer, learn about fitness, or have a personal nutrition coaching session. Dance the afternoon away with tunes from our Best Life-ing resident DJ and enjoy other performances. Our 7 Areas of Life framework presentation and author meet and greet is sure to super-charge your motivation, and help you reach your goals to live your best life.

The Safespace Shelters and Inn Transition Shelters are located in the northern and southern areas of the Miami-Dade County and provide an emergency safe haven for women and children who are fleeing abusive situations. The Inn Transition Shelters are long term transitional housing (up to two years) for women with children. The outreach Programs along with the Victims Assistance Programs provide support, services and guidance to those victims who may not be in immediate need of shelter or housing. All programs provide safety planning, services management, counseling, emergency assistance, information and referrals.

Safespace Foundation, Inc. has funded or supported numerous start-up programs and “pass through” funds since 1992, it has worked with the community leaders and groups, local government, private donors, businesses, service clubs, and other groups interested in eradicating domestic violence to expand and improve services to women and their children.
